Installing Horizon MW is simple:

1. Download the installer from our download page
2. Extract the ZIP file to a location of your choice
3. Run "HorizonMW_Setup.exe" and follow the on-screen instructions
4. Launch the game using the desktop shortcut or the Horizon MW launcher

No! We do not endorse piracy and will not help you fix issues with an illegitimate copy of the game. The Steam copy provides all the necessary, up-to-date files to run HMW without issue.

Extract all the files from the .zip archive before trying to open the launcher; ensure the game directory in the settings panel points to the folder where h1_mp64_ship.exe is.

If this does not work, close the launcher, delete launcher_settings.json, reopen the launcher, then reselect game directory. If this does not work either, launch the game from hwm-mod.exe directly.

Horizon MW includes maps from three classic Call of Duty titles: Modern Warfare Remastered (MW1), Modern Warfare 2 (MW2), and Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). This comprehensive collection gives players access to many of the most beloved maps in CoD history, all remastered with improved graphics and optimized for modern gameplay.

Yes, controller support is fully functional throughout the game, except during map votes. Controllers have aim assist, though values have been adjusted from the original MWR settings.

Yes, we have official servers. Server keys are being distributed carefully to trusted hosts who maintain high-quality gaming environments. This ensures a consistent experience across the Horizon MW network.

Click on the cog at the top right corner of the launcher, then 'Select Install Directory'. Navigate to your MWR directory, then click 'Finish and Save'.

Manually download the latest version of the launcher from the latest message in the #announcements channel of our Discord, then follow the installation procedure.

Change the language of the game to English or Spanish from the following location: Right-click MWR on Steam > 'Properties...' > 'Language', then let the game update.

Your pirated copy of the game provided you with outdated files. Purchase the game legitimately to obtain up-to-date ones.

Here are some common solutions for startup crashes:

1. Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date
2. Run the game as administrator
3. Disable any overlay software (Discord, Steam, etc.)
4. Verify your antivirus isn't blocking the game
5. Try running in compatibility mode for Windows 10

If you installed MWR through the Microsoft Store, you will not have the TrustedInstaller permissions required to modify the game files. Otherwise, ensure you are running the launcher as an Administrator, and that the directory is NOT in Read-only mode.

Windows 11 users must add an exception for hwm-mod.exe inside 'Program settings' under their 'Exploit Protection' module, which can be found in Settings > 'Windows Security' > 'App & browser control' > 'Exploit protection settings'.

Specifically, 'Control Guard (CFG)' and 'Force Randomization for images (Mandatory ASLR)' must be set to OFF.

Yes, Horizon MW supports high refresh rates up to 240Hz. You can set your preferred refresh rate in the game settings. The game engine has been optimized to provide smoother gameplay on high refresh rate monitors.

The H2M method of seeing servers in the server browser via favorites.json is no longer relevant, as HMW fixes the online server browser. Simply ensure that you are running the latest version of the mod.

Change your server source to Internet by clicking the Filter Servers button in the server browser. If that doesn't work, your mod is out of date. Grab the latest launcher from our Discord announcements channel, then verify files to get up-to-date ones.

Try changing to a different download server from the launcher settings panel.

Head into \...\players2\user\ inside the game directory, then delete the hmwcdta and hmwdta files. Rename h2mcdta and h2mdta (your old stats) to hmwcdta and hmwdta.

This happens when your unlocked FPS is too high. Limit in-game FPS by inputting the com_maxfps 250 command into the in-game console (opened with ~).

Under 'Options' > 'Graphics' > 'Video', lower the 'FOV' slider to less than half.

Disable any programs that make use of external audio drivers, such as NVIDIA Broadcast, VoiceMeeter, or Ableton. If that doesn't work, go to Windows Settings > 'Sound' > 'Sound Control Panel' > Right-click and 'Disable' any unused device under the 'Playback' and/or 'Recording' tab(s).

These are remnants of H2M interfering with your HMW install. Navigate to your zone folder inside the game directory, then delete any files or folders that have the h2m prefix.

1. Verify your files through the Steam Library (Right-click MWR > 'Properties...' > 'Installed Files' > 'Verify integrity of game files').
2. Turn off any third-party antivirus or VPN software, then reverify game files through the launcher.
3. Make sure your game directory does not contain Cyrillic letters and does not contain the word 'h2m' in it.
4. Delete the h2m-mod and hmw-mod folders from the following directory: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local.
5. Delete the hmw_pre_gfx or h2m_pre_gfx files from \...\hmw-mod\zone, then reverify files through the launcher.
